Virtual Border Fence Unusable

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) virtual fence project, being built by Boeing, has failed, according to CNN:

The individual components worked well, but the system integration did not, [Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff] said.

Though the department took the project over from Boeing, authorities confirmed that the Secure Border Initiative network did not work as planned or meet the needs of the U.S. Border Patrol.
