State Unemployment Rate (Chart)

Currently there are an average of six unemployed Americans for each job opening. Long-term unemployment is the grim reality for 5.8 million workers who have been idle for more than six months. Here is a graphic look at the State Unemployment Rate.

The lowest unemployment rate can be found in one of the coldest states, North Dakota (4.1%), and the highest unemployment is found in Michigan (14.7%).
